Custom Complex Structural Steel
Tampa Steel Erecting Co. played a central role in the fabrication of the striking twin arches for the Margaret McDermott Bridge, part of the Dallas Horseshoe Project. Standing 328 feet tall and stretching 1,311 feet, the arches were fabricated in 78 unique sections at our Tampa facility—each one engineered with precise tolerances to meet the architect’s complex design.
Prior to shipment, every connection was trial-fitted and tested to ensure seamless assembly on site. The massive sections, some over 60 feet long and weighing nearly 200 tons, were shipped to Dallas and erected with precision. The completed bridge now serves as a landmark for the city, improving access to downtown while also providing pedestrian and cycling paths across the Trinity River.
This nationally recognized project reflects Tampa Steel Erecting’s proven ability to deliver technically complex, award-winning bridge structures that connect communities and shape skylines.
